Even if you clean your belongings every single day, there are still a few things that may escape your notice. While you can’t see them, the bacteria may lurk in your belongings. These common items you use are totally covered with germs. according to dermatologist Dr Naina Madani.
Beddings: Bacteria hanging out of your sheaths may be the last thing you would want to think about but all that sweat and moisture can turn your bed into a bacteria and fungal growing hotspots.
Cell phone: You keep your phone everywhere from your desks to your kitchen counters to your toilet so it is a no-brainer that your phone is always covered with germs. Also, you touch your phone all the time with dirty hands which cover the surface with germs.
Underwear: If you are not cleaning your underwear every day, remember that you are just wearing germs. Underpants accumulate everything from sweat, germs and other secretions. So if you are wearing the same pair of undies every day, things can get really itchy.
Kitchen sponges: The kitchen sponges harbour some of the worst bacteria in your entire home. Even hot sponges and soap water may not really do the trick. The best bet is to just replace your kitchen sponges once a week.
Water bottle: While keeping a reusable water bottle on your desk may be convenient but every time you sip water from that unclean water bottle you also sip some moisture-loving bacteria. The water isn’t to blame here, it is your mouth.
Yoga mat: Even if you are not using the yoga mat every day, it may be collecting a colony of germs because of the porous material and the sweat from your hands and feet. So never use yoga mats at a yoga studio as you may pick up something nasty. Carry your own one.
Bath towel: The moisture on the bath towel tends to make the bacteria linger on them. So if you are using the same bath towel without cleaning it, you beat the whole purpose of taking a bath.
